Jake talks. A lot. There is a ton of babble in there, but he says a lot of words. He knows what almost all of these words mean and associates them correctly. According to Baby Center, the average number of words that are spoken and associated is 3-5. We are way past that. Here is a list of words/names Jake knows (this is mostly for me to remember later!):
- hello
- hi
- bye
- Mom (mama... he sometimes says one, sometimes the other)
- Dada
- Papa (grandpa, he calls both this)
- Maw (grandma)
- Avery (baby cousin)
- Halle (3-year old cousin)
- Ellie (his elephant/security toy that he sleeps with)
- Harry (our orange cat)
- Will (our grey cat)
- Cat
- Dog
- Ball
- Jake (his name, obviously, but he associates this with Jake and the Neverland Pirates)
- see (says when he wants something, which is nice because when I don't want him to have something, all I say is "can I see?" and he'll hand it over)
- please
- baby
- baba (bottle)
- yeah
- nose (he actually just says "no" but points to his nose)
- peepee (this is exactly what you think it is...and his current favorite word)
